Recently, President Xuan Fuzhen led a delegation to SINOPEC Qingdao Safety Engineering Research Institute for research and exchange, holding discussions and a symposium with Yang Zhe, Director of SINOPEC Qingdao Safety Engineering Research Institute, and Xu Wei, Deputy Director of the institute. Participants in the symposium included Chen Xiaoyin, Director of the University Administration Office; Yang Qiang, Dean of the Scientific Research Institute; and Zhu Mingliang, Deputy Dean of the School of Mechanical and Power Engineering.
During the symposium, Yang Zhe stated that SINOPEC Qingdao Safety Engineering Research Institute and East China University of Science and Technology have carried out many fruitful collaborations through the National Key Laboratory of Chemical Safety. He expressed hope that the two sides would leverage talent cultivation as a starting point and joint project research as a vehicle to further refine cooperation directions in areas such as AI for science and intelligent sensing, comprehensively promoting in-depth collaboration and accelerating the output of pioneering and original achievements. Xuan Fuzhen spoke highly of the institute's recent achievements in the construction of national-level platforms in the hazardous chemicals sector and innovations in intrinsic safety and safety intelligence technologies. He expressed hope that, building on the solid foundation of previous cooperation, the two sides would further align with industrial needs and strengthen the cultivation of high-level talent. He also called for collaborative research efforts focused on the application of large models and digital twins in the field of chemical safety, jointly promoting risk prevention and technological progress in new energy sources and new processes.
During the visit, Xuan Fuzhen and his delegation conducted an on-site inspection of the institute's technology achievement exhibition hall and chemical safety data center.
